Brentwood’s Eliza McKnight named Gatorade Tennessee Volleyball Player of Year

Brentwood senior Eliza McKnight was named the Gatorade Tennessee Volleyball Player of the Year, it was announced.

McKnight, a 6-foot-1 middle blocker who signed with Western Kentucky, recorded 475 kills and 268 digs this past TSSAA volleyball season, leading the Bruins (29-6) to the Class AAA state championship match.

McKnight, the District 10-AAA MVP, also tallied 42 blocks and 24 service aces while posting a .446 kill percentage and a .321 hitting percentage.

The award recognizes the top volleyball player in the state and also considers academic performance and community involvement.

McKnight is a member of the Brentwood High School National Honor Society and the Mu Alpha Theta math honors society. She has volunteered locally as part of multiple community service initiatives through the Greater Nashville chapter of the National Charity League.

As a recipient, McKnight becomes eligible for Gatorade’s national player of the year award.
