Bronny James of the Los Angeles Lakers stacked another solid summer lague outing on top of his previous impressive performance. First, Bronny held his own against number one overall pick Cooper Flagg. Bronny then delivered another strong performance against the Los Angeles Clippers. It is clear this summer that Bronny James is getting more confident and is showing his growth in many facets of his game.
In a Lakers Scorers piece, Karin Abcarians analyzed Bronny’s latest stellar summer league performance for the Lakers.
“Bronny James had his best showing of the summer and Cole Swider continued his strong play, but the rest of the Lakers struggled mightily as the Clippers earned a 67-58 win. Bronny dazzled with 17 points, five rebounds and five assists. Cole Swider ended with 16 points and four rebounds. Dalton Knecht struggled mightily, ending with eight points on 3-15 shooting. The game opened with a 3-pointer from Bronny. In three minutes of play, he was the leading scorer with five points. Cole also converted on a midrange shot. He and Bronny combined for seven of the first nine points for the Lakers. At the first timeout, it was a tie.
“The second quarter opened with a pair of free throws from Bronny. As a team, the Lakers were struggling to generate offense, shooting just 36% from the field. Bronny was not only scoring, but he was facilitating with two assists. He was the first player for either team in double figures.”
Bronny James generated excitement in yet another game. He provided more of a scoring punch with 12 points (leading the Lakers) in the first half, not missing a single shot. He is showing more and more maturity in his game. With his work ethic, we could continue to see him get better each game.
It was popular to label Bronny as a bust and say his situation was nepotism at its finest, but given what Bronny has been displaying of late, he has a real chance to be an impact player for the Lakers, maybe sooner than we think.
