The Edmonton Oilers picked up a massive win to open their second-round playoff series against the Vegas Golden Knights. Once again, the Oilers pulled off the comeback to steal home ice away from Vegas.
But it was the play from goalie Calvin Pickard that stole the show against the Golden Knights. The Oilers only allowed Vegas to have 17 shot attempts, but the goalie was able to hold down the fort against a tough Edmonton offensive attack.
With the win, Pickard became the first goalie for the Oilers to begin a postseason 5-0 since Grant Fuhr did so in 1985. Pickard has been sensational for Edmonton in the postseason so far, and it's helped this Oilers team look dangerous.

Edmonton has become the king of the comeback, as the win gave them their fifth straight come-from-behind victory. Oilers forward Zach Hyman spoke about this fact, but iterated that the team would rather not be in this situation.
"I mean, you don't want to be down in five games," Oilers forward Zach Hyman said of his team's comeback streak. "Again, we have the experience that we can come back and fight our way out of it. Yeah, you have to have that belief in your group when you are down and come back to win five in a row like that."
Edmonton will look to build off this massive Game 1 win in Game 2 on Thursday. If the Oilers can go up 2-0 heading back home, they will feel very good about the chances of advancing to the Western Conference Final.
