Former Borussia Dortmund forward Youssoufa Moukoko currently holds the record for the youngest player in Champions League history.
Arsenal teenager Max Dowman will become the youngest player in Champions League history if he features in the competition this year.
Dowman, 15, has been named in Arsenal’s Champions League squad for this season and is in the matchday squad for their opening league phase match against Spain’s Athletic Bilbao on Tuesday.
Should Dowman make an appearance, it would make him the youngest player to make a Champions League appearance in the competition’s history.
Dowman does not turn 16 until December 31, so would need to play before their seventh league stage match against Inter Milan to break the record.
Moukoko set the record, aged 16 years and 18 days, in a 2-1 Dortmund away win against Zenit St Petersburg in 2020.
Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal is currently second at 16 years and 68 days, while Celestine Babayaro, Rayan Cherki, Alen Halilovic and Youri Tielemans also made their Champions League debuts as 16 year olds.
