Champions Rise as Finals Weekend Heats Up at EWC 2025

PUBG Mobile – YG Hold Narrow Lead

Day 2 of the PUBG Mobile Grand Finals intensified the title race, with Myanmar’s Yangon Galacticos (YG) holding onto first place with 117 points after two days.

Defending champs Alpha7 Esports trail closely at 112 points, setting the stage for a tense final day on Sunday.

Despite mixed results across six matches, YG’s consistency – including two Chicken Dinners – gave them the edge.

Weibo Gaming (78) and DRX (74) sit further back but remain mathematically in contention.

With only six matches left, YG and Alpha7 look set for a showdown to decide the 2025 champions.

MLBB – Team Liquid PH Crowned Champions

Team Liquid PH etched their name into EWC history by dominating the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup Grand Final.

After dropping Game 1, TL PH bounced back with four straight wins to defeat the defending champions, Selangor Red Giants OG, 4–1.

Star player Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya earned Finals MVP honours, helping his team secure the $1 million prize and 1,000 Club Championship points. This marked Team Liquid’s second EWC title of the weekend, following Magnus Carlsen’s chess victory, making them the first club to win multiple EWC trophies.

Earlier, ONIC Philippines claimed third place with a narrow 3–2 win over regional rivals ONIC Indonesia.

Overwatch 2 – Semi-Finals Set

Four teams booked semi-final spots in the Overwatch 2 Midseason Championship.

Twisted Minds edged Crazy Raccoon 3–2, and Al Qadsiah swept Virtus.pro in a convincing 3–0 win.

Korea’s T1 took down Team Liquid 3–0, while home favourites Team Falcons outlasted Geekay Esports 3–2 in a tense MENA derby.

The semi-finals will feature Twisted Minds vs Al Qadsiah and T1 vs Team Falcons, with $1 million and major club points at stake. Falcons’ deep run fuels Saudi hopes, while T1 seeks to secure Korea’s first Overwatch title of the event.
