Chicago Bears are ‘very serious’ about bringing in RB Nick Chubb

The Chicago Bears and Nick Chubb train continues to gain steam after the team missed out on some of the top running backs in the 2025 NFL draft.

According to Ken Carman of 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland, the Browns are very much interested in bringing back Chubb — but the Bears are also serious about trying to make a push.

“The Browns are serious about bringing him back,” Carman said. “The Bears are very serious about bringing him in and are trying to make this push to bring him in.”

Carman referenced ESPN analyst Louis Riddick suggesting that Chubb should be beating down the door to play for the Bears as something to keep an eye on, which could suggest Chicago wants it known that they’re interested in Chubb.

After the Browns added two rookie running backs in the draft — Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson — that could very well spell the end of Chubb’s time in Cleveland, and perhaps a short stint with Chicago to work with Ben Johnson and run behind a rebuilt offensive line.

Right now, D’Andre Swift is the featured back, but he’s more of a home-run hitter than a better-the-tackles runner. Meanwhile, Roschon Johnson was underutilized last season and Chicago might be looking to expand his role. Then there’s seventh-round rookie Kyle Monangai, who has the potential to make an early impact.

But there’s no denying that Chubb and Swift would make a perfect pairing as Johnson’s 1-2 punch in Chicago. Chubb’s bruising style of play coupled with his experience would make an asset for this offense. Whether that pans out remains to be seen.
