It didn’t warrant its own video, but the Cowboys’ 2025 preseason schedule was also revealed on Wednesday night. And while the three games making up this year’s exhibition slate won’t count in the standings, they will mark the first time this iteration of the Cowboys will take the field against an opposing team, as well as the actual head coaching debut of Brian Schottenheimer.
Whatever the Cowboys will be in this first year under Schottenheimer, it will almost assuredly begin to show itself in these three preseason games.
The Cowboys’ preseason will kick off Saturday, Aug. 9 with a meeting with the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium. As has become the norm, the preseason opener will be played on the West Coast and coincide once again with the team’s training camp stay in nearby Oxnard. Schottenheimer has already said he hopes to organize a joint practice or two with Sean McVay’s squad while in California.
The remainder of the Cowboys’ preseason schedule will be played at home. The team will welcome the Baltimore Ravens to AT&T Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 16; the preseason finale will be held Friday, Aug. 22 when the Atlanta Falcons come to town.
That will leave the Cowboys with less than two weeks to get ready for their regular-season opener in Philadelphia against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles on Thursday, Sept. 4.
