Dallas defeated the Lakers, 121-94, on Wednesday during the NBA preseason at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Former Vol Dalton Knecht started for the Lakers and played 35 minutes. He totaled eight points, eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal versus the Mavericks.
Knecht converted 3-of-12 field goal attempts, 1-of-9 three-point attempts and 1-of-2 free throw attempts.
He was selected in the first round of the 2024 NBA draft (No. 17) by Los Angeles. During his rookie season, he played in 78 games, averaging 9.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.3 steals per contest.
Knecht transferred to Tennessee from Northern Colorado and played for the Vols during the 2023-24 season under head coach Rick Barnes.
The Lakers will play their final NBA preseason game on Friday versus Sacramento. Tipoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. EDT and the contest will be televised by NBA TV.
