Keeping up with former Vikings can prove to be a tall task for fans, but at Vikings Wire, we have done a good job of it for you. What helps us out is when those players leave the team and achieve success both on and off the field.
In the case of Danielle Hunter, he has found both of those since joining the Texans last offseason during free agency.
Tom Pelissero reported on Wednesday that the team and Danielle Hunter had agreed to an extension. The deal is a one-year, $35.6 million contract extension that makes him the NFL’s second-highest paid defensive end. He will trail only Myles Garrett, who the Browns extended earlier this month.
Pelissero also reports, “Hunter will make $32M this season — a $12.5M raise — and $55.1M ($54.1M fully guaranteed) over the next two seasons.”
The Vikings lost Danielle Hunter in free agency but signed Jonathan Greenard to replace him. Needless to say, the deal made sense and benefited both parties.
