Napoli was defeated in the third of five pre-season friendlies. Antonio Conte’s team was outplayed by Brest at the Patini stadium in Castel di Sangro.
The match against the French team ended 2-1. The goals were scored by Ajorque (2) and Lorenzo Lucca.
The first half was very challenging for the Azzurri, who went into the break trailing by 2 goals thanks to two goals from Ludovic Ajorque.
At 28 minutes, the forward opened the scoring by taking advantage of a cross from Bradley Locko that was deflected by Amir Rrahmani. Ajorque left no chance for Vanja Milinkovic-Savic. The second goal came at 33 minutes: a cross from the right by Melou and a precise header by Ajorque.
Napoli’s best chance came with Kevin De Bruyne, who hit the post from a few meters out. The Belgian anticipated a low cross from Giovanni Di Lorenzo but was unlucky with the deflection.
In the second half, Napoli managed to change the pace from the start. The 2-1 came at 64 minutes and was scored by Lorenzo Lucca, marking the goal for the second consecutive game: the forward was ready in the middle of the area and scored after an assist from Matteo Politano.
Napoli played better in the remaining part of the second half but did not find the equalizing goal. Politano was frequently dangerous, and De Bruyne remained very active, giving great indications.
Napoli adds another 90 minutes of play and now awaits the match against Girona, scheduled for August 9.
