Sacramento Kings rookie guard Devin Carter is considered day-to-day with a right shoulder contusion, according to Brenden Nunes of Sactown Sports 1140.
Carter sustained the injury on Saturday in a loss against the Orlando Magic after he appeared to jam his shoulder attempting to go for a steal against Paolo Banchero. He was in immediate discomfort and left the game for good in the second quarter after logging 32 seconds.
The 13th pick underwent further examination in the locker room with the team training staff and wouldn’t return to the bench in the second half. He left the arena with his arm in a sling.
Carter missed the start of the season with the Kings after undergoing left shoulder surgery in July. He was eventually cleared for unrestricted basketball activity and debuted with the Kings on Jan. 3 after logging two rehab games in the G League.
The 13th pick is averaging 3.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists on 38.8% shooting from the field in 30 appearances with the Kings. He has scored in double figures three times, including a career-high 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals on March 19.
Carter logged five games with the Stockton Kings in the G League, averaging 26.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists, two steals and 1.2 blocks. He recorded a season-high 34 points and nine rebounds on Feb. 26 in a win over the Memphis Hustle.
