The Miami Dolphins cut ties with four players Thursday, including long snapper Blake Ferguson.
The Dolphins released Ferguson and waived cornerback Ryan Cooper Jr., defensive tackle Neil Farrell, and offensive lineman Chasen Hines. Neither Cooper nor Hines have ever played a regular season snap in the NFL and Farrell appeared in seven games with Miami after joining the team during the 2024 season.
Ferguson, 28, is the most experienced of the group after joining the Dolphins as a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft. In five years with the team he played in 72 consecutive games before landing on the non-football illness list early in the 2024 season. In his place, the Dolphins rotated through a handful of long snappers for the remainder of the year.
Following the roster move, the Dolphins don’t have any players on the roster listed as long snappers. However, the team reportedly agreed to a deal with Alabama’s Kneeland Hibbett, an undrafted free agent who hasn’t yet been announced as an addition to the roster.
