It’s been reported that the Philadelphia Eagles have released former Cleveland Browns quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, as first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Thompson-Robinson appeared in the Eagles’ first two preseason games of 2025. During this time, he collected 73 passing yards on 10-of-16 completed passes with zero passing touchdowns. Unfortunately, he was outperformed by fellow Eagles backup quarterbacks Tanner McKee and rookie Kyle McCord. His most notable play came against his former team, when Browns linebacker K.J. Henry intercepted a pass for a defensive touchdown.
After two struggling seasons to start his NFL career, the Browns traded away Thompson-Robinson this past offseason. In exchange, the team received veteran quarterback Kenny Pickett, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury for the majority of the Browns’ preseason. While Cleveland has yet to see Pickett under center, they still have the opportunity to win this trade if he provides any meaningful contribution.
