The Eagles and Haason Reddick meet again in Week 4 for the first time since a very messy divorce.
Time heals all wounds, huh? Winning does the same thing. Ask yourself three questions. Remember how big of an issue Haason Reddick’s exit was? Did you want him to stay with the Philadelphia Eagles, or were you hopeful he’d leave? When was the last time you thought about him?
He has endured quite the tailspin. He went from being a legitimate Defensive Player of the Year candidate, a Second-Team All-Pro, and a two-time Pro Bowler to being seen as expendable and a trouble-maker.
Philly traded him to the New York Jets on April Fool’s Day in 2024. He was a no-show for several weeks, and when he showed up, he wasn’t imposing.
Try 14 tackles and one sack in ten games with two starts for size, but he landed on his feet, signing a one-year, $14 million deal to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Oh, by the way. Guess who the Eagles play in Week 4.
The Eagles face Haason Reddick for the first time since his exit.
The Eagles’ schedule is out. Their game vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is scheduled for September 28th. Raymond James Stadium provides the backdrop.
This marks the first time Birds fans have seen Mr. Reddick since shortly after he determined he’d give Sean Desai the silent treatment. The divorce was messy, but this should give him and the Birds some closure.
Reddick notched 87 tackles, 27 sacks, 49 additional hits on the quarterback, five forced fumbles, and four pass breakups in 34 regular-season games. He added another ten tackles, 3.5 sacks, and a forced fumble in four postseason games.
The Birds have shuffled the deck at edge rusher since then. Nolan Smith, Bryce Huff, Azeeez Ojulari, Jalyx Hunt, and Antwaun Powell-Ryland Jr. are expected to handle pass-rushing duties this season.
