It didn’t take long for Jake Andrews to land with a new team.
A day after getting released by the New England Patriots, the offensive lineman was claimed off waivers by the Houston Texans, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Andrews, a fourth-round pick by the Patriots in 2023, appeared in 16 games (one start) for New England during his rookie season. But a serious lower-body injury sidelined him for the entire 2024 campaign.
On Monday, Andrews was one of six players released after the Patriots selected 11 players in the 2025 NFL Draft, including center Jared Wilson in the third round. They also have Garrett Bradbury, Ben Brown and Cole Strange on the roster.
