The first half of the 2025 NFL season is now over, and the race to the postseason is underway. Getting the right player in the lineup is more critical at this point in the season than ever, whether it be on the gridiron or in your fantasy league. Here’s a look at three tight ends you should start in Week 10 in your fantasy league, and which you should sit.
Start Em’
Mark Andrews (Baltimore Ravens)
Mark Andrews wasn’t the hottest tight end at the start of the season, but he is bouncing back into a strong fantasy selection as the season wears on. Since Week 3, Andrews has averaged 11.8 fantasy points per game and has been targeted at least six times in half of his previous six outings. He and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson are now fourth all-time in NFL history for most career games with multiple touchdown passes between a QB-TE duo.
This week, Andrews faces a Minnesota Vikings defense that has allowed 19.3 fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends since Week 5, which is the fifth-worst in the league over that time period. It could be a friendly matchup for Andrews to have an explosive week.Kyle Pitts Sr. (Atlanta Falcons)Pitts isn’t the top fantasy tight end in the NFL, but he puts forth a very respectable effort consistently. This season, he is averaging 10.9 fantasy points per game, making him twelfth among tight ends in the league. He’ll have the chance to take advantage of a favorable matchup this week against the Indianapolis Colts, who are a hot team, but a team that has also allowed tight ends to score at least one touchdown in four straight games. The Colts rank as the second-worst team in touchdowns allowed to opposing tight ends since Week 5, and have allowed 25.4 fantasy points per game to the position over their last four games.
Dalton Schultz (Houston Texans)
Schultz hauled in six receptions for a team-high 77 yards in the Texans’ last outing. This week, they’ll square off against a Jacksonville Jaguars defense allowing 26.4 fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends over the past four games. Despite the likelihood of quarterback CJ Stroud missing this one for Houston, it could be a good opportunity for Schultz.
Sit Em’
Pat Freiermuth (Pittsburgh Steelers)
Freiermuth looked strong against the Colts last week, but on the season is just the 25th-best tight end in fantasy football while averaging just 7.5 fantasy points per game. This week, he’ll see a Chargers’ defense that has given up just 18 receptions and 191 receiving yards to the tight end position since Week 5, and is allowing just 9.8 fantasy points per game over the previous five contests to tight ends, which is the fourth-fewest in the NFL.Luke Musgrave (Green Bay Packers)
Packers’ star tight end Tucker Kraft has been a fairly solid fantasy pick this season, but now that he’s out with an injury, you might not want to plug in his replacement. Musgrave is historically an average pass-catcher, and this week lines up against the Philadelphia Eagles, who are allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to tight ends this season.
Zach Ertz (Washington Commanders)
Ertz is one of the best tight ends in NFL history, but this might not be the week to start him. The Commanders are once again without star quarterback Jayden Daniels due to injury, and Ertz has averaged just 9.6 fantasy points per game this season. This week, he faces a Lions defense that has allowed the seventh-fewest fantasy points to tight ends in the league over the last four games, with just 11.3 points per game.
