The 2024-25 season is in the books for the Philadelphia 76ers, which means it is the time to look back on the season that was for each player. The Sixers finished 24-58 as they missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2016-17 season amid a slew of injuries.
The Sixers used a grand total of 30 players throughout the season and an NBA record 53 starting lineups. This series will focus on the 15 players on standard deals and the three on two-way deals to finish the season–not anybody who finished the season on a 10-day deal.
Up next in this series is rookie big man Adem Bona. The No. 41 pick of the 2024 NBA draft, Bona played a role all season for the Sixers and was able to develop at a much faster rate than he or the Sixers may have anticipated when the 2024-25 season began.
Here is a final look at the rookie season had by Bona:

Bona’s season overview
There was a lot to like about Bona as a rookie. As the season went on, he developed into a legitimate defensive force around the basket. He made opposing ball-handlers think twice about attacking the paint with him on the offensive end and he was also terrific on the perimeter when he switched in the pick-and-roll. His quick feet, active hands, and athleticism was on full display on that end. Offensively, he is still a bit raw limited to dump off passes and attempts in the paint, but he showed off a soft touch around the basket and improved as a free-throw shooter as the season went on.
Bona highlights
The season-high for Bona came in an April 3 matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks when he went for 28 points on 13-for-15 shooting with six rebounds and three blocks. He was terrific as a rim runner on offense and did an admirable job defending Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. He had a more than solid effort and that is something he can hang his hat on.
Final grade
Overall, Bona played in 58 games and averaged 15.6 minutes per night which is way more than he or the Sixers expected him to play in either category. He developed into a shot blocker, a rim runner, and got better as a screener as the season wore on. There were many times when he commit an offensive foul by moving too quickly on the screen so that was something that was fixed. This was a terrific rookie season for the big man out of UCLA.
Final grade: A-minus
