The 2024-25 season is in the books for the Philadelphia 76ers, which means it is the time to look back on the season that was for each player. The Sixers finished 24-58 as they missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2016-17 season amid a slew of injuries.
The Sixers used a grand total of 30 players throughout the season and an NBA record 53 starting lineups. This series will focus on the 15 players on standard deals and the three on two-way deals to finish the season–not anybody who finished the season on a 10-day deal.
Up next in this series is two-way guard Jeff Dowtin Jr. The product out of Rhode Island gave Philadelphia some steady ball-handling and a scoring punch when the time called for it. He was somebody who coach Nick Nurse could turn to in a pinch as he gave the Sixers some depth.
Here is a final grade and season review for Dowtin in the 2024-25 season:

Dowtin’s overview of the season
Due to all of the injuries, Dowtin played in a career-high 41 games with three starts and 15.1 minutes per game. He was a steady ball-handler and somebody who was able to give the Sixers some organization on the offensive end and some much-needed depth in a season where things didn’t go their way in terms of player availability. He actually ended up reaching his game’s activated limit of 50 during the season due to the nature of the two-way deal. When the Sixers needed a point guard, Nurse turned to Dowtin to handle the job.
Dowtin highlights
Dowtin went for a career-high 30 points and knocked down four triples in an April 9 win over the Washington Wizards on the road. A native of Upper Marlboro, MD, Dowtin had a lot of friends and family in the crowd and was able to have himself a night. He shot 4-for-7 from deep and 11-for-15 from the floor overall.
Dowtin’s final grade
The season didn’t go as planned for the Sixers, but Dowtin had a strong end to the season. He averaged 12.8 points and shot 50% from deep in the month of March and then averaged 16.0 points in April. His future is a bit foggy as he can no longer be on a two-way deal due to the 2025-26 season representing his fifth in the league, but it wouldn’t hurt the Sixers if he were to return.
Final grade: B-plus
