Former Georgia Bulldogs star kicker Rodrigo Blankenship continued his perfect season with the St. Louis Battlehawks over the weekend. Blankenship has made 16 of 16 field goal attempts and is making a strong case for an NFL return.
Blankenship made a pair of field goals (53 and 44 yards) in St. Louis’ 19-9 win over the Memphis Showboats in the UFL. Blankenship’s 16 field goal makes have not been easy. Twelve of his 16 made kicks are from over 40 yards. He’s a perfect five of five on kicks over 50 yards and made a long a 56 yards (career long).
Blankenship deserves another shot in the NFL. He has shown consistency and accuracy this season. Additionally, one of his weaknesses, recording touchbacks on kickoffs, is no longer as important in the NFL thanks to recent rule changes.
Blankenship’s accurate kicking is a big reason why the Battlehawks are 5-2. St. Louis (tied) has the best record in the UFL.

Blankenship will look to keep his perfect season alive next week against the Birmingham Stallions (1:00 p.m. ET on FOX). St. Louis plays Birmingham on Saturday, May 17.
Blankenship’s last NFL appearance came in 2022 with the Arizona Cardinals before he suffered an injury.
