After one season with the New York Giants, quarterback Drew Lock is headed back to the West Coast.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Lock is signing a two-year, $5 million deal that reunites him with the Seattle Seahawks, where he spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons backing up Geno Smith.
Backup quarterback Drew Lock is expected to sign with the Seahawks for a second stint with the team, a source confirmed to ESPN on Friday.
Lock is set to sign a two-year, $5 million contract, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The 28-year-old Lock signed with the Giants last offseason after general manager Joe Schoen misjudged the interest of Tyrod Taylor, who ultimately joined the New York Jets.
Initially slated to back up Daniel Jones, Lock appeared in eight games (five starts) for the Giants, completing 59.1 percent of his passes for 1,071 yards, six touchdowns, and five interceptions. He also rushed for 133 yards and two additional touchdowns, compiling a record of 1-4.
Lock was initially drafted by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft and spent his first three seasons in Colorado.
