Bai Jobe was once considered a top 10 edge rusher in his class, but is now heading to his third school in three years
A former major Michigan State football prospect is heading to the MAC.
Former Spartans edge rusher Bai Jobe has reportedly signed with Miami (OH), according to 247Sports insider Matt Zenitz. Jobe entered the transfer portal last month after one season with the Kansas Jayhawks.
Jobe played in one game as a freshman with the Spartans in 2023, recording two tackles. This past season with Kansas, Jobe had an enhanced role but still wasn’t a big-time contributor for the Jayhawks. He recorded nine tackles across seven games.
Jobe was nearly a five-star prospect in the 2022 class. He ranked as the seventh-best edge rusher nationally and No. 55 overall prospect in the class. He was one of the highest-rated Michigan State commitments of the modern era and a crown jewel get for former coach Mel Tucker.
In just three years, Jobe has fallen from fringe five-star prospect to playing at a group of five school. There is still plenty of potential that Jobe brings to the table, and if he can tap into that at Miami (OH), then maybe we’ll see him back in the portal again next spring looking to move back up to the power four level.
