Former Rockets Dwight Howard (2013-14 to 2015-16) and Carmelo Anthony (2018-19) were named to the 2025 class of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
Two former NBA stars that spent time with the Houston Rockets will be elected in 2025 to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and both immediately upon becoming eligible.
Dwight Howard, who spent three seasons (2013-14 through 2015-16) in Houston, will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer — as will Carmelo Anthony (a portion of 2018-19). Now 39 and 40 years old, respectively, the NBA careers of both ended earlier this decade.
Howard was clearly the more impactful player, from a Houston perspective. In those three seasons, the big man averaged 16.0 points (60.1% FG), 11.7 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game, including an All-Star appearance in 2014 and a starring role on a Western Conference Finals team in 2015.
Anthony, a forward, averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds in 29.4 minutes during a brief 10-game stint early in the 2018-19 season. He did the majority of his damage during extended stints with the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks.
