Giants 2025 NFL Mock Draft Roundup: Could New York trade up for QB or take best available at No. 3?

Giants 2025 NFL Mock Draft Roundup: Could New York trade up for QB or take best available at No. 3?

The Giants enter the 2025 NFL Draft with the third overall pick.

After a 3-14 season, how will New York use its first-round selection?

Here’s what the experts have the Giants doing.

QB Cam Ward, Miami (via trade with Tennessee Titans up to No. 1)

We all witnessed on “Hard Knocks” how badly Giants GM Joe Schoen attempted to move up to select Drake Maye last year. This time, he makes no mistake about acquiring the quarterback he wants.

QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado (via trade with Cleveland Browns up to No. 2)

General manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll are on notice. Co-owner John Mara made that abundantly clear during his postseason meeting with the media. He also stressed the need to get a franchise quarterback. The only way to guarantee that: Trade up.

There is a chance this pick isn’t even for sale. The Browns announced the day after their season ended that there was a setback with Deshaun Watson‘s Achilles. His status for next season is up in the air. If that’s the case, they might sit here and take Sanders themselves. The Giants’ offer, though, is too good to pass up.

New York sends Cleveland No. 3 and a third-round pick this draft, then their first-round pick next year.

CB/WR Travis Hunter, Colorado

If the Giants are unable to move up for Ward, would they like Shedeur Sanders enough to draft him at No. 3? In this scenario, they don’t and instead opt for arguably the best player in the draft.  Hunter would give New York an upgrade at corner — and he’d be a fun weapon for Brian Daboll to mix into the offense for the Giants’ TBD quarterback.

EDGE Abdul Carter, Penn State

Carter is an utterly dominant edge rusher. He’s the top one in the draft. Sure, the Giants already have Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux, but can you take a right tackle here? They’d love to trade down, but who is moving up?

QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

The Giants can take advantage of the Titans and Browns not being ideal preferences for Deion Sanders‘ son. Shedeur can give them clutch, accurate downfield passing to fit well with Brian Daboll while working with young playmakers such as Malik Nabers, Wan’Dale Robinson, Tyrone Tracy Jr., and Theo Johnson.

CB/WR Travis Hunter, Colorado

The Giants foolishly won their way out of a quarterback, but perhaps that just means that they’ll tank for Arch Manning, as seen in my 2026 NFL Mock Draft. In the meantime, New York needs to draft the best player available.

Travis Hunter has incredible athleticism and plus size. He’s an elite talent at both cornerback and receiver.
