SOFTBALL

Green Bay Preble 13, Manitowoc 1

MANITOWOC – The Hornets banged out 11 hits, led by Sierra Krahn with three hits, including a home run.

Tenley Kuehn limited the Ships to only one hit on the mound as Preble earned the Fox River Classic Conference win.

Denmark 3, Luxemburg-Casco 0

LUXEMBURG – Shaelyn Kraschnewski shut down the Spartans on one hit over seven innings, striking out three and walking none as the Vikings earned the North Eastern Conference win.

The game was scoreless until the fifth when Denmark’s Macey Mleziva singled in a run.

Erin Cherovsky took the loss for Luxemburg-Casco, going 5⅔ innings, allowing three runs on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

Mleziva and Kraschnewski each collected three hits for Denmark, while Mleziva, Emma Olsen and Addison Pinchart each drove in one run. Pinchart stole two bases.

Denmark stole six bases and the Vikings did not commit an error.

The teams will meet again Friday in a conference matchup at Denmark.

Bonduel 11, Weyauwega-Fremont 1

BONDUEL – Emery Thompson threw a complete-game no-hitter, walking four and striking out nine as the Bears opened Central Wisconsin Conference play with the win over the Warhawks.

Thompson also led the Bears at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and three RBI. Jayla Reinke was also 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Tatum Sporisky also had two hits with a double and two RBI.

Bonduel banged out 13 hits on the afternoon.

BASEBALL

De Pere 8, Sheboygan North 2

SHEBOYGAN – Caden Krutz pitched 5⅔ innings, allowing two hits and two unearned runs while striking out five as the Redbirds opened their season with a Fox River Classic Conference win.

De Pere scored in each of its first five innings as Ryan Wettstein led the offensive attack, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Trenton Kriewaldt and Mason Sequin were each 2-for-5 with an RBI.

Tristan Hundt had a two-run single for Sheboygan North.

De Pere will host Bay Port at 10 a.m. on Saturday in a doubleheader.

Marinette 6, Luxemburg-Casco 2

MARINETTE – The Marines got a complete game from Justin Kruse, who allowed nine hits and two runs while striking out five in the win over the Spartans.

Marinette, which had 11 hits, got three hits from both Chase MacGregor and Ethan Doubek. Maveric Williamson and Wyatt Stauss both had two hits.

Ethan Werner and Landon Derenne both had two hits for Luxemburg-Casco.

Derenne started and took the loss for the Spartans.

Oconto Falls 7, Kingsford, Mich. 4

OCONTO FALLS – Cole Bozile was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Hunter Bozile was 1-for-1 with two runs scored as the Panthers earned the nonconference win.

Trace Brehmer picked up the win, pitching three innings, while allowing two hits, two earned runs and four walks with two strikeouts.

Jack Kriegle took the loss for Kingsford, pitching 1⅓ innings, allowing three hits and three runs – none earned.

Garrett Brown scored two runs for Kingsford.

Gibraltar/Washington Island 7, Sevastopol 0

STURGEON BAY – Cameron Munao was 2-for-3 with three RBI and Luke Rericha was 2-for-4 as the Vikings jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one and 3-0 after two en route to the Packerland Conference win.

Gibraltar/Washington Island sealed the win with four runs in the seventh.

Aaron Brey picked up the win, pitching seven innings and allowing just two hits and one walk with six strikeouts.

Crivitz 5, Coleman 3

COLEMAN – The Wolverines scored three runs in the seventh inning to rally for the win over the Cougars.

Walter Laguna Herrera, Logan Marvin and Pierce Polomis scored the three runs for Crivitz with Colton Arpke and Cayden Kirby driving in runs with a single and a double.

Arpke pitched three scoreless innings of relief to get the win.

Brady Dufek took the loss for Coleman.

Gillett/Suring 10, Wausaukee 5

WAUSAUKEE – Parker Haak was 1-for-2 with three RBI as the Hornets had just three hits but took advantage of 10 Wausaukee walks and six errors en route to the Marinette & Oconto Conference win.

Evan Suennen led the Rangers with three hits and two RBI.

Wausaukee led 3-1 after one and 4-1 after three, but Gillett/Suring rallied for two runs in the fourth, three in the fifth and four in the sixth to take charge. The Rangers closed out the scoring with a run in the seventh.

Bradyn Kiedrowski picked up the win, pitching 5⅔ innings, allowing five hits, four runs – two earned – with one walk and seven strikeouts.
