Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn preaches brotherhood. His teams live by that motto, too, as we saw so often last season during Quinn’s first season as Washington’s head coach.
Part of that brotherhood is how the Commanders perform on the field, but it’s also the relationships they’ve built off the field. Veteran players like Bobby Wagner, Zach Ertz and Terry McLaurin helped Quinn build Washington’s brotherhood quickly. The Commanders’ 2024 rookie class, led by quarterback Jayden Daniels, was also a part of the franchise’s culture shift.
Another member of the 2024 rookie class, cornerback Mike Sainristil, quickly earned the respect of his teammates for his outstanding play, work ethic and leadership. The former college national champion quickly formed a bond with Daniels.
Daniels and Sainristil are entering the second year of their NFL careers and are back in Ashburn for offseason work. After a day of practice this week, Sainristil decided to have a little fun with teammates, beginning with Daniels. He simply called Daniels to tell him goodnight, and Daniels’ reaction was priceless:
Some of Daniels’ reactions: “I just talked to you five minutes ago.”
Daniels to Sainristil: “You’re acting real bonkers right now.”
This is all a part of a recent TikTok trend where adult men call their friends to and wish them sweet dreams.
Sainristil would reach out to other shocked teammates, including veteran safety Jeremy Reaves. It was all in good fun.
