Insider Gerry Dulac predicts Jaylen Warren won’t re-sign with Steelers

Jaylen Warren will finally be let off the reins in 2025 to lead the Steelers’ rushing attack — and it couldn’t come at a better time, as this season may be his last in Pittsburgh.

Warren is one of the most explosive athletes on Pittsburgh’s offense — as evident in his rushing, receiving, and even pass-blocking abilities. Despite this, the 2025 season may be his last with the Steelers.

According to insider Gerry Dulac, Warren is unlikely to return to Pittsburgh in 2026. During Wednesday’s Steelers chat on the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Dulac was asked if he believes Warren will be on the team after the 2025 season — he answered with an emphatic “no.”

It may seem like a ridiculous prediction to make in May, but Warren’s replacement is already on the roster — third-round rookie Kaleb Johnson. If the Steelers like what they see out of Kenneth Gainwell behind Warren in 2025, they could re-sign him to back up Johnson in 2026 — leaving Warren to price himself out of the Steel City, just like Najee Harris did this offseason.
