Instagram post raises questions about Darius Robinson’s chest injury

Gannon says Robinson is “working through” a chest injury, but Robinson’s IG post suggests his season could be over

Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Darius Robinson has a chest injury he suffered against the Seattle Seahawks last week. While head coach Jonathan Gannon revealed little about Robinson’s status moving forward, an Instagram post by Robinson suggests that perhaps he might not play the rest of the season.

The caption: “I trust the next chapter because I know the author 🙏🏾💯”

Robinson did not participate in Monday’s or Wednesday’s practices. Gannon told reporters Wednesday before practice that Robinson “is still working through a chest (injury).”

Between it being a chest injury and Robinson’s Instagram post, it makes it easy for someone to believe that he suffered a season-ending injury like a torn pectoral muscle.

It would be a disappointing end to his second NFL season. Last year was derailed by a calf injury and the death of his mother. He played in only six games and logged one sack and 10 tackles. Through four games, he hasn’t produced much. He has five tackles and a sack.

We might not see an announcement until Saturday when the Cardinals make final roster moves before their Sunday game.
