Fantasy Week 10 Waivers: Schultz and Loveland lead the way
USA TODAY Sports’ Jacob Camenker breaks down the top waiver wire targets you should be eyeing ahead of Week 10.
A.J. Brown missed the Philadelphia Eagles’ final game before their Week 9 bye while dealing with a hamstring injury. Will he be able to suit up for the team in Week 10?
There weren’t major concerns about Brown’s malady in the week leading up to the Eagles’ 38-20 Week 8 win over the New York Giants. However, the 28-year-old veteran was not able to practice because of his balky hamstring before being ruled out.
Brown’s status in practice will bear watching in Week 10. If he is able to return to the practice field, he should at least have a chance to play against the Green Bay Packers on “Monday Night Football.”
Here are the latest updates on Brown’s status as the Eagles prepare for the first game of the second half of their season.
A.J. Brown injury update: Is Eagles WR playing Week 10?
The Eagles have not provided an update on Brown’s status since he was ruled out for the Eagles’ Week 8 game against the New York Giants because of a hamstring injury.
Brown did not participate in any of Philadelphia’s three sessions leading up to the game. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni told reporters the veteran receiver could play even without any practice reps on Oct. 24, but Brown was ruled out for the Week 8 game later that day.
On Oct. 25, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Brown would “likely” return to the field in Week 10, when the Eagles face the Green Bay Packers.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo corroborated that reporting Oct. 26, saying Brown’s hamstring had “tightened up” on him during the week but that the Eagles were hoping the 28-year-old wouldn’t be sidelined long-term by the malady.
“The hope is that he is back for their next game,” Garafolo said.
The Eagles are playing on “Monday Night Football” in Week 10, so their first practice report will not be released until Thursday. Once Brown is designated as a full, limited or non-participant at practice, fans will have a better idea whether he will be available for their game against the Packers.
A.J. Brown stats 2025
Brown ranks top-three on the Eagles in most major receiving categories despite playing just seven games. Below is a look at his stats from the season and where he ranks on the team in each category entering Week 10:
- Targets: 51 (2nd)
- Receptions: 29 (3rd)
- Receiving yards: 395 (2nd)
- Receiving TDs: 3 (2nd)
- Yards per reception: 13.6 (2nd)
DeVonta Smith (55 targets, 44 receptions, 588 yards and on touchdown) has been his main competition for targets at receiver while Dallas Goedert has logged seven touchdowns from the tight end spot.
Eagles WR depth chart
The Eagles have just five receivers on their 53-man roster after trading John Metchie III to the New York Jets as part of the Michael Carter II trade. Below is a look at the pecking order within Philadelphia’s receiver room.
- A.J. Brown
- DeVonta Smith
- Jahan Dotson
- Darius Cooper
- Xavier Gipson
Brown and Smith have played the majority of the snaps at receiver this season and are more of a 1A/1B combination at the position than a traditional one-two punch. Dotson stepped into a larger role in Brown’s absence, playing 71.2% of the Eagles’ offensive snaps against the Giants, but logged just one catch – a 40-yard touchdown.
Cooper and Gipson have played sparingly and would likely continue to do so should Brown end up missing Week 10.
Philadelphia could also call up a veteran from its practice squad to provide depth if needed. The team has Britain Covey, Danny Gray, Terrace Marshall and Quez Watkins, though none have yet played a snap in 2025.
