Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh’s Raid 2 recently hit theaters and became a hit film. Fans and critics alike praised the actors’ performances. Now, Riteish, who played the antagonist in the film, has opened up about whether he ever felt underrated. The actor also called the film a ‘bonus’ and added that he got more than he deserved.
In an interview with Instant Bollywood, Riteish Deshmukh was asked whether he feels underrated or feels he hasn’t gotten his due in the industry. He shared that he initially thought that his debut film would be his last film. Expressing gratitude, he added that he has more than what he deserved, as even after 22 years in the industry, he is giving interviews.
Further, calling Raid 2 a bonus, the Housefull actor shared, “Jab vo hota hai na acha kaam karne ke baad bohot zyada bonus mil jata hai, meri life ka wahi bonus chal raha hai.” (You know, when it happens that you get a big bonus after doing good work. I am enjoying that bonus in my life, currently).
Meanwhile, Riteish is seen in the role of a corrupt politician who fools the public with his good image. However, when Ajay Devgn, an IRS officer, comes to his city, he gets caught. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the crime thriller hit the theaters on May 1, 2025. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak.
Earlier, during a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Raid 2 director Raj Kumar Gupta shared that he wrote the film for one and a half years, even though it’s a real-life-based story. He further shared that he gave his best to bring fictional elements into the story.
Talking about Raid 3, the director shared that he has a few scripts ready and will take a call about the next part after the release of the second part. Raj expressed his interest in Raid 3 but added that several factors have to be taken care of.
Meanwhile, Riteish Deshmukh will next be seen in a historical drama, Raja Shivaji. He is not just acting in it but also directing and producing it under his home banner, Mumbai Film Company, in collaboration with Jio Studios. The film is based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Apart from this, he also has Dhamaal 4 in the pipeline.
