The Denver Nuggets entered Game 1 of their second-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road on Monday looking to steal a victory.
That is exactly what they would do although they trailed for most of the game before making a comeback in the fourth quarter.
Aaron Gordon capped off the victory with the game-winning three-pointer, shocking the Thunder and the entire Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.

While Gordon was the hero on Monday night due to his game-winner, it was Nikola Jokic who led the way for the Nuggets with another historic performance.
In the game, Jokic recorded 42 points, 22 rebounds, six assists, one steal and two blocks in 42 minutes, leading the Nuggets to a crucial victory in Game 1 to take a 1-0 series lead.

After Monday’s game, former NBA player and three-time Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford made a loud statement regarding Jokic.
“SGA IS the MVP … but Joker IS the best player in the world,” Crawford posted on X after Jokic’s historic performance in Game 1 on Monday.

Crawford made it clear that he believes that Jokic is the best basketball player in the world despite picking Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Thunder to win MVP this season over Jokic.
Of course, Shai also had a great game on Monday night in Oklahoma City’s loss as he recorded 33 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one block.
Both Jokic and Shai are also finalists for the MVP award this season and Shai is the favorite to win the award despite Jokic’s historic season that saw him become just the third player in league history to average a triple-double.
While Jokic may not win his fourth MVP award this season, Crawford’s statement about him being the best player in the world is not out of the question as Jokic continues to produce insane stat lines like the one on Monday night that gave them the victory in Game 1.
