Ja’Marr Chase’s next big goal? Tweaking his Bengals leadership style

Cincinnati Bengals wideout Ja’Marr Chase has hit on every promise or goal he’s set since joining the team.

Chase memorably said he wants to break Bengals franchise records upon his arrival in the NFL and did so — breaking a few of his own records in the process, too. He then went on to win a Triple Crown.

What could Chase possibly set as a goal in 2025? Beyond Super Bowls and the like, he’s focused on more personal matters like how he moves for the team as a leader.

“That could be a thing. That could be a question. Who knows? It’s all in the moment and how I handle it,” Chase said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “Just improving small things, characteristics. Nothing I can really put my hand on.”

The Bengals went after a culture reset in the draft and through free agency, getting back to those early Zac Taylor roots of team captains from big programs.

While notable, the real locker room turnaround will come from guys like Joe Burrow and Chase continuing to take control in a more direct manner, rather than leading by example. Chase seems to understand that and has eyes on it this offseason.
