- Ohio State has offered a scholarship to Jason Singleton, a senior at Columbus Academy and son of a former Buckeye basketball player.
- Singleton, a three-star combo guard, has received offers from several other schools, including Xavier, Dayton, and Creighton.
Ohio State has offered Columbus Academy senior Jason Singleton, son of one of the Buckeyes who played on the 1999 Final Four team.
A 6-foot-4, 175-pound combo guard, Singleton is listed as a three-star prospect in the 247Sports.com rankings but has continued to pick up scholarship offers in recent weeks. In addition to Ohio State, Xavier, Dayton, Nebraska, Creighton, DePaul (coached by former Ohio State coach Chris Holtmann), Harvard and Yale are known to have offered him during the spring.
According to his X page, Singleton holds 14 Division I scholarship offers. As a junior, he was district and conference player of the year, first-team all-district and third-team all-state while helping Academy to a 28-1 record and a state runner-up finish.
Singleton shares a first name with his father but does not go by junior. His father was a four-year letterwinner at Ohio State who averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists from 1995-99. In his final season, Singleton helped Ohio State reach the Final Four, starting all 36 games as the Buckeyes went 27-9.
He finished with 1,022 career points and is now the athletic director at Columbus Academy.
The Buckeyes have two verbal commitments for their 2026 class, both Ohioans: Four-star guard Marcus Johnson from Garfield Heights and three-star power forward Alex Smith from Upper Arlington.
