Jaxson Dart’s ‘playground’ magic builds chemistry

As the New York Giants navigate a 2-4 start, wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson is emerging as the steady hand guiding rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart through the chaos of a young offense.

During a Zoom call with reporters on Monday, Robinson broke down the duo’s growing rapport, particularly on plays that veer off-script — moments that can make or break drives.

“For sure, whenever he’s rolling around back there, the route’s kind of already over that I’ve ran,” Robinson explained. “It’s just get open again and try to be available for the quarterback. Just at the end of the day, you’ve got to get in his vision so that way he can see you.”

This “playground” mentality, as Robinson described it, turns potential disasters into opportunities.

“I mean, I think so,” he said when asked if it feels like a freewheeling scramble where Dart seeks out familiar targets. “Sometimes it just kind of depends on the play, probably. Definitely, I think the more so that you get into his vision, and you continue to make plays for him, I definitely think you’ve got more opportunities.”

Robinson credited film study and reps for their progress.

“I feel like we’ve done a pretty good job of that whenever he’s kind of rolling around, just trying to figure out where he’s at and just being on the same page with him,” he said.

With Malik Nabers sidelined for the season, this synergy is crucial. Dart, a 2025 first-round pick, has shown flashes of elusiveness, but consistency hinges on receivers like Robinson adapting in real time. As the Giants prepare for Denver’s vaunted defense, Robinson’s blueprint — visibility over rigidity — could unlock the offense’s potential.
