After comparing his teammate to “Batman” after the Golden State Warriors’ play-in tournament win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night, Jimmy Butler continued to pay tribute for Steph Curry, this time with a custom jersey.
While getting a workout in to prepare for the Warriors’ first-round playoff series against the No. 3 seed Houston Rockets, Butler rocked a custom No. 30 jersey. However, instead of Curry on the back, Butler’s blue and gold kit listed “Butler III” on the back. Butler shared a picture from his workout in the custom Golden State jersey on his Instagram.
Since acquiring Butler in a blockbuster trade from the Miami Heat at the deadline, the Warriors have ripped off an impressive 23-7 record. In 30 games with the Warriors, Butler is averaging 17.9 points on 47.6% shooting from the field with 5.9 assists and 5.5 rebounds.
During Golden State’s win on Tuesday over Memphis in the play-in, Butler notched 38 points while Curry tacked on 37 points to combine for 75 points to lock up the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference.
The Warriors are slated to meet the Rockets for Game 1 on Sunday in Houston.
