Jimmy Butler was a no-show for the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night after the six-time All-Star was forced to sit out due to a pelvis injury.
The good news for Warriors fans is that their team was still able to secure an important win at home in Game 3 against the Houston Rockets, 104-93, despite missing Butler’s services.
Butler, who is now in danger of missing Game 4 on Monday as well, took to social media shortly after the win. In his first post since sitting out the contest due to injury, the 35-year-old sent a message of appreciation for his squad — except for one teammate.
“thanks batman and team. excluding buddy,” Butler wrote on Instagram.

The “Batman” in Butler’s post is Steph Curry, who went off for 38 points in Saturday’s victory. Butler also decided to take a hilarious shot at Buddy Hield, who has been on the other end of some friendly banter throughout this series.
On Saturday, Hield stepped up in a big way for Golden State, finishing with 17 points and five triples off the bench. After the game, Hield said that he “knew Robin [Butler] was out tonight, so I had to step up.”
In all seriousness, Butler’s status for Game 4 currently remains up in the air. While there is some optimism that the five-time All-NBA forward will be ready to play come Monday, nothing is guaranteed at the moment.
Should Butler sit out again, the Warriors will need another strong performance from Hield as they look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead against the Rockets.
