The Somerset Briar Jumpers began their march to the 12th Region championship on Monday as they took on the East Jessamine Jaguars in the first round of the tournament.
No team was able to score until the top of the third, where the Jaguars were able to plate a run to take a 1-0 lead over the Jumpers. Somerset was able to respond with a two-RBI single from Caynon Sizemore to take a 2-1 edge in the ball game after the fourth inning. From there, it seemed to be a good old pitchers duel.
