The fraternity of Consensus All-Americans for the Iowa Hawkeyes has seen its group grow with the induction of another star who will live on forever in the Hawkeyes’ illustrious history.
Return man and electrifying playmaker Kaden Wetjen is officially the 35th Iowa Hawkeye to attain Consensus All-American status and will now be remembered forever as one of the greatest to ever wear the Iowa uniform and come through Iowa City.

From starting as a walk-on to taking over the nation with his incredible returns, Kaden Wetjen has etched himself among Iowa’s halls forever.
The undersized and under-recruited product of Williamsburg High School took the road less traveled to get to this point. Out of high school, Wetjen chose to play for Iowa Western Community College, where he became a star and gained the attention of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Kaden Wetjen joined Iowa, and his production for the Hawkeyes on special teams has been second to none. During his tenure at Iowa, he broke Tim Dwight’s record of return touchdowns, with six combined punt and kickoff return touchdowns, all of which came over the last two seasons.

Not only is Kaden Wetjen the best returner to wear the Iowa jersey, but he also stands alone as the only player to win the Big Ten Returner of the Year in back-to-back seasons. Up next for the playmaker is a chance to take his talents to the NFL, where he will look to be a spark plug to the team that gives him the chance.
