Tennessee won the game in a run-rule decision after Levi Clark hit a walk-off two-run home run in the seventh inning. Clark pinch hit for the Vols in his only at bat.
The Vols recorded their 12th run-rule victory in 2025.
Junior right-handed pitcher Austin Breedlove started for Tennessee. He pitched three innings and recorded four strikeouts. Breedlove totaled 39 pitches, including 27 strikes, against 10 batters.
Michael Sharman (2-0) relieved Breedlove and pitched three innings, earning his second win in 2025. He recorded two strikeouts and totaled 38 pitches (27 strikes).
Clark, Hunter Ensley, Andrew Fischer and Cannon Peebles hit home runs for the Vols against Lipscomb.
Tennessee will next play at LSU, Friday-Sunday, in SEC competition. The series opener Friday between the Vols and Tigers is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EDT (SEC Network+) at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Game No. 2 on Saturday is slated for 8 p.m. EDT (ESPNU), while Sunday’s series finale will take place at 3 p.m. EDT (SEC Network).
