LSU coach Brian Kelly gives injury update on key receiver transfer

LSU football head coach Brian Kelly provided an injury update on one of LSU’s transfer portal additions at wide receiver. Destyn Hill, a Florida State transfer, did not participate in LSU’s open practice on Saturday.

“Another ankle with Destyn,” Kelly said, “And it’s too bad because he’s had a really good spring. I’ve been really impressed with him. His strength is just the ability to go up and get the football. He’s strong. He’s physical. He’s smart.”

Hill played high school football at Louisiana powerhouse Edna Karr and was a four-star in the class of 2021. However, Hill didn’t join FSU until 2023. Hill caught six passes for 87 yards in his time with the Seminoles.

Hill flew under the radar in LSU’s transfer class, but Kelly has offered praise throughout the spring.

“He’s really going to help us,” Kelly said.

Hill’s ankle sprain is considered a high ankle sprain, said Kelly. That means Hill is likely done for the spring, so LSU’s focus will be getting Hill back healthy this Summer.
