Luther Burden back at practice Sunday

Luther Burden back at practice Sunday

Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden was back at practice Sunday at Halas Hall as the team wrapped rookie minicamp.

Burden appeared to injure his midsection near the end of Saturday’s workout. According to 670 the Score, Burden caught a deep pass down the sidelines near the end of practice and landed awkwardly on his side. He clutched at his midsection before being looked at by a trainer.

Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle declined to comment on Burden’s potential injury following Saturday’s practice, deferring injury updates to head coach Ben Johnson, who didn’t meet with media Saturday and isn’t scheduled to meet with them on Sunday.

Burden was on the practice field Sunday for a short session, according to ESPN’s Courtney Cronin.

Burden was selected with the 39th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. He was expected to be a first-round pick but fell to Chicago in the second round. Burden certainly has a chip on his shoulders after not being selected in the first round.

“No, that’s staying with me forever,” he said. “Everybody who passed up on me has got to pay.”
