Nashville SC begins its quest for its first-ever trophy with an in-state showdown.

Nashville hosts the Chattanooga Red Wolves in the round of 32 of the U.S. Open Cup on May 6 at Geodis Park (7 p.m. CT, Paramount+). The winner will face Orlando City or the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the quarterfinals, which will take place on either May 20 or 21.

Nashville last competed in the Open Cup in 2023, advancing to the round of 16. It reached the quarterfinals in 2022, its best result in its four Open Cup appearances.

The Red Wolves play in USL League One, the third division of American soccer, below MLS and the USL Championship. They are 1-1-3 in league play this season and reached the round of 32 by beating New Jersey Alliance FC, Chattanooga FC and the Las Vegas Lights, all on penalties.

The U.S. Open Cup is a single-elimination tournament featuring 96 teams from different levels of the American soccer pyramid. Matches tied after 90 minutes will be decided with two 15-minute periods of extra time, followed by a penalty shootout if the game is still tied.
