NBA Makes Historic Josh Hart Announcement During Knicks-Celtics Game 6

The New York Knicks entered Friday’s Game 6 matchup against the Boston Celtics looking to clinch the series to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Of course, New York had an opportunity to do just that in Game 5 in Boston on Wednesday night, but they were instead blown out by the Celtics who were able to keep their season alive.

Friday’s game would be the complete opposite as the Knicks were able to dominate their way past the Celtics at Madison Square Garden as they picked up the 119-81 victory.

With the win, the Knicks now advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since the 1999-2000 season where they will take on the Indiana Pacers for a shot at representing the East in the NBA Finals.

Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks in Friday’s victory as he recorded 23 points, six rebounds and six assists.

OG Anunoby added 23 points and nine rebounds of his own while Mikal Bridges ended the game with 22 points and Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Josh Hart also had an impressive game as he recorded a triple-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

With this performance on Friday night, Hart also made Knicks playoff history.

The NBA announced that Hart’s triple-double in Friday’s victory was the first triple-double recorded by a Knicks player since Walt Frazier recorded one in 1972.

This is an impressive feat for Hart, who has played a key role for the Knicks this season which has continued into the playoffs.

Of course, Hart finished the regular season with nine triple-doubles, which broke Frazier’s single-season franchise record, which he had held since the 1968-69 season.

Hart and the Knicks will now look to carry their momentum of knocking off the defending champions into the Eastern Conference Finals where they will match up against the Pacers.

Game 1 between the Pacers and Knicks will be on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden at 8:00 p.m. EST on TNT.
