The Ohio State basketball team will have a new look when the season tips off in November of 2025. No, the team isn’t getting new uniforms, but the court at Value City Arena will be getting an update for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
This will be the fifth time the Schott has had a new look floor since opening in 1998. The last time Value City Arena got a facelift, fans were given several options and were encouraged to vote on the final floor design. There has not been any voting this time around, just an announcement that a new floor would be coming on Friday, June 13. The Buckeye athletic department has dedicated an entire page to the history of the flooring, dating all the way back to the early days of St. John Arena. It’s a fun little read if you enjoy reliving some of the years gone by.
Check back with us in the coming days when we have more details and pictures of the floor reveal. Until then, enjoy the video montage of the different flooring used in Ohio State basketball history, courtesy of the Ohio State Men’s basketball X (formerly Twitter) account.
