Green Bay Packers coordinators Adam Stenavich, Jeff Hafley and Rich Bisaccia met with the local media following the 2025 NFL draft and rookie minicamp.
Here more from the Packers coordinators below:
Offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich
On Elgton Jenkins playing center: “I think he’s open to it. He has a lot of experience there, he’s open to it, excited about it, ready to go.”
On first-round pick Matthew Golden: “Looks fast.” Excited to see how he progresses in the offense.
On second-round pick Anthony Belton: “Big guy, but he moves really well.” Impressed with his movement ability early on.
Stenavich said the Packers made finding more ways to get the ball to tight end Tucker Kraft a “big thing” this offseason.
On Jordan Morgan playing tackle: “Elite athleticism, moves well, fast, can redirect.” Packers are having Morgan compete at left tackle to open 2025.
Stenavich said Luke Getsy is working primarily with the quarterbacks this season.
On Taylor Elgersma: “He was impressive…very prepared, very smart kid.” Said he has “great arm strength” and is “raw” but he’ll add competition as the fourth quarterback.
Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley
On Barryn Sorrell and Collin Oliver: “Two guys we liked a lot in the (draft) process.” Both have “versatility and certain “skillsets” the Packers like.
Hafley believes Oliver can play linebacker, rush off the edge, on-the-ball backer and a defensive end depending on the situation. Not just a designated pass rusher. Packers will see how much he can handle in Year 1.
On Nate Hobbs: “Nate can play outside, Nate can play inside. We’re going to have him do both.” Packers love the versatility. “Competitive, tough, physical, he plays the game fast, you can tell he loves it.”
Hafley wants the Packers to be more consistent while still evolving the system in Year 2. Liked how hard his defense was playing to end 2024 — goal will be to get back to that level quickly and then build on it in 2025.
On DeMarcus Covington: Packers interviewed a bunch of coaches. Style, experience in multiple schemes in New England drew Packers to Covington. “Love his demeanor, love the way he coaches.” Past experience with him while at BC. Also liked his experience as a defensive coordinator. “To me, he felt like a great hire. Great character, great person.”
On Edgerrin Cooper: Wants more consistency in Year 2. Getting the details down. “Have you guys seen him at all lately? When you see him, he looks different. He’s bigger now. He has to be close to 240 pounds.” Said he knows how to prepare and keep him body healthy after rookie year. “He’s locked in and focused.”
Hafley passed on commenting about the future of Jaire Alexander. He didn’t want to touch on “hypotheticals.”
Special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia
Bisaccia called keeping Brandon McManus a “significant” move for the Packers special teams. “Good to know we have our kicker coming back this year.”
On Mecole Hardman: “Great experience in the league, he’s been really productive at punt and kick return, we’re looking forward to him keeping with our guys.”
On Keisean Nixon returning kickoffs: “In my mind, he’s always going to be in the mix.” Said cooler heads have prevailed since playoff loss.
On Nate Hobbs, who played for Bisaccia in Las Vegas: “He’s a really talented football player.” Said he’s got great size, physical against the run, can play multiple positions, had great moments on special teams. “We’re getting a really good guy who loves football and loves the opportunity to compete.”
Bisaccia said he feels like he’s failed Matt LaFleur at times during his tenure. Mentioned four different things in big games recently. Hoping he can be better to help the Packers get where they want to go.
