Marchand, 36, is a legend of the game and has plethora of knowledge and experience that few other veterans in the NHL have. With a Stanley Cup and several international gold medals with Team Canada, the [insert team] are getting a certified winner that will always find a way to help his team win. 

The Halifax native has played 1090 NHL games over 16 seasons, all with the Boston Bruins, and in the process scored 422 goals and 554 assists for 976 points. Despite his age, Marchand has surpassed the 60-point mark in nine straight seasons and is projected to do so again this season. Marchand is set to become an unrestricted free agent this upcoming off-season and carries a $6.125 million cap hit.

The Panthers are tied for first-place in the Atlantic Division with a near-identical 39-21-3 record.
