The Pittsburgh Penguins appear to have ended their trade deadline day with one final move to shore up their NHL roster for the remainder of the season.
Just before the 3:00 p.m. ET deadline on Friday, the Penguins were involved in a three-team trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins.
First reported by Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the deal will send defenseman Brandon Carlo from the Bruins to the Leafs, a first-round pick and forward Fraser Minten from Toronto to Boston, and defenseman Conor Timmins and forward Connor Dewar from the Maple Leafs to the Penguins.
Still piecing together the details but so far:

The Penguins will also send Toronto a 2025 fifth-round pick as part of the deal.
Pittsburgh appears to have been involved because Toronto needed to offload salary in order to bring in Carlo. In addition, the Penguins needed a few additions to fill in their roster for the remainder of the season, as forwards Cody Glass and Anthony Beauvillier, as well as defenseman Luke Schenn, were dealt earlier in the day.
Timmins, 26, is a right defenseman who is more of a shutdown-type. He has two goals and eight points in 51 games this season, and 6-foot-3, 213-pound blueliner is on the books for the rest of the season at $1.1 million before becoming a restricted free agent this summer.
Dewar – also 26 – is a depth center who is good defensively and on the penalty kill. He is also a pending-RFA for this summer, and his cap hit is $1.18 million.
