Projecting LB Jordan Burch’s rookie role in 2025 for Arizona Cardinals

Of all the Cardinals’ rookies, Simon has the best shot at starting.

The Arizona Cardinals selected seven players in the 2025 NFL draft. Their fourth-round pick, linebacker Cody Simon, was selected with the 155th overall pick in the draft.

What role could he play for the team as a rookie? We will look at each draft pick and make projections for what role each can viably expect for them in 2025.

What is the case for Simon?

Expected role for Arizona Cardinals LB Cody Simon

Of all the Cardinals’ draft picks, Simon actually has the best shot of being a starter. Kyzir White has gone unsigned this offseason. Replacing him and fellow free agent linebacker Krys Barnes on the roster are free agent additions Akeem Davis-Gaither and Mykal Walker, both of whom have been mostly special teams players in their career.

Simon is an athletic, smart football player. He could start at the Mike linebacker job.

If he doesn’t, perhaps he will play in a rotational role.

If Owen Pappoe plays like he did last season and either Davis-Gaither or Walker start, Simon could end up on special teams or even inactive on many Sundays.
