We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Validation Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and functionality of our application dashboards, managing file-related errors, and facilitating successful data loads and transfers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data validation, automation scripting, and ETL testing processes. As a Data Validation Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our data systems and enhancing our data-driven decision-making capabilities.

Responsibilities

As a Data Validation Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Data Validation: Validate the accuracy and functionality of application dashboards, ensuring that data is correctly represented and meets business requirements.
  • File Transfers: Oversee the validation of inbound and outbound interfaces, ensuring that file transfers are executed smoothly and without errors.
  • Error Handling: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve file-related errors and issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • SFTP Protocols: Understand and apply SFTP protocols and data transfer mechanisms to facilitate secure and efficient data movement.
  • Automation Scripting: Utilize Python scripting to automate data validation and testing tasks, improving efficiency and accuracy in validation processes.
  • ETL Testing: Familiarize yourself with ETL testing processes, including test case design, execution, and defect tracking, to ensure data integrity throughout the ETL pipeline.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment on data quality standards and validation processes.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of validation processes, test cases, and results to support transparency and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices in data validation and quality assurance.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills
  • Data Validation: Proven experience in validating data accuracy and functionality, ensuring that data meets specified requirements and standards.
  • File Transfers: Strong understanding of file transfer processes, including validation of inbound and outbound interfaces to ensure data integrity.
  • SFTP Protocols: Familiarity with SFTP protocols and data transfer mechanisms, ensuring secure and efficient data movement.
  • Python Scripting: Proficiency in Python scripting for automation of data validation and testing tasks, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in validation processes.
  • ETL Testing: Experience with ETL testing processes, including test case design, execution, and defect tracking, to ensure data integrity throughout the ETL pipeline.
  • QA Practices: Strong knowledge of quality assurance practices, ensuring that data validation processes adhere to industry standards and best practices.
  • Azure DevOps: Proficiency in Azure DevOps, with an emphasis on Test Plan, to manage and track testing activities effectively.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • SAP: Familiarity with SAP systems and data structures, enhancing the ability to validate data within SAP environments.
  • Workday HCM: Experience with Workday HCM and FINS, contributing to the validation of human capital management data.
  • Power BI: Experience with Power BI for reporting and data visualization, enabling effective communication of data insights.
  • Azure Data Factory (ADF): Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and its capabilities for data integration and transformation.
  • Informatica: Experience with Informatica as an ETL tool, enhancing the ability to validate data within Informatica workflows.
  • SSIS: Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for data integration and validation tasks.
