Ravens make nfl history in 41-40 loss to the Bills in Week 1

The Ravens are the first team in NFL history to score 40+ points and rush for 235+ yards in a loss (teams were previously 277-0, including playoffs)

The Ravens were set to run the Buffalo Bills out of Highmark Stadium, but a late fumble and defensive breakdown cost John Harbaugh’s team in an explosive season opener. Derrick Henry fumbled late, and the Ravens squandered a 15-point fourth-quarter lead in a heartbreaking Week 1 loss to the Bills. Henry accounted for almost 200 yards of total offense, but it was a late fumble punched out by Ed Olver that put Buffalo in position to win with a field goal at the buzzer.

Henry had 18 carries for 169 yards (9.4 avg) and two rushing touchdowns, but it’ll be the fumble with 3:10 left in the fourth quarter, and Baltimore on their only 38-yard line that people are going to discuss on Monday morning.

Baltimore made history with the loss, and it’s something that may never be accomplished again.

The Ravens were up 15 points late in the third quarter after DeAndre Hopkins hauled in a one-handed catch for a 29-yard touchdown on his first regular-season target from quarterback Lamar Jackson. Henry fumbled, and Buffalo went down and scored.

Baltimore was up two after a failed two-point conversion attempt, and the Ravens went three and out on 32 seconds of clock before punting.

Buffalo got the ball back with 1:26 left on the clock, and the Bills drove 66 yards on nine plays before Matt Prater nailed a 32-yard walkoff game-winner with no time left. The Ravens allowed 28 second-half points and will have to regroup before the AFC North opener against the Browns in Week 2 at home.
