Real Madrid are working towards finalising the contract extension of Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior to ward off suitors from Saudi Arabia.
Marca reports that Vinicius will pen a new three-year deal until 2030 before the end of the season, with his current contract expiring in June 2027.
The mercurial winger has been the subject of exorbitant offers from Saudi clubs, but he has always emphasised his commitment to Los Blancos.
The Spanish giants view Vinicius as an important member of the team for the foreseeable future, with the Brazilian scaling new heights with each passing season.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a stellar 2023/24 season, leading Carlo Ancelotti’s men to the Champions League and La Liga titles.
He was also considered the front-runner to win the Ballon d’Or award before losing out to Manchester City midfielder Rodri.
Forming a fearsome front-three with Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo, Vinicius has carried on his fine form this season, bagging 20 goals and 14 assists in all competitions.
However, he failed to make an impact in the Champions League as Real crashed out in the quarter-finals against Arsenal.
Vinicius will look to inspire Los Blancos in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona this week.
His form is also crucial in the quest for La Liga, as Real trail Barca by seven points in the second place.
Veteran midfielder Luka Modric is also poised to sign a one-year extension following his impressive performances this season.
It has been widely reported that Ancelotti would not remain in charge at Real Madrid beyond the summer.

They have identified Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso as the top candidate for the managerial position.
Real can reduce the gap to four points with Barca when they face Getafe in an away fixture tonight.
